Loch Ness & The Highlands of Scotland from Edinburgh

Come along on the ultimate day tour of Scotland. From Edinburgh, this tour heads towards Stirling. Traveling around the Highlands, you'll continuously cross the path of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites.

Passing Stirling Castle (the first of 5 castles passed) this tour journeys through areas once dominated by Rob Roy and William Wallace, across the Rannoch Moor and into Glencoe for a photo stop and to hear the haunting story of the infamous massacre in 1692.

Crossing Loch Leven at Ballachulish, there's lunch at the Ben Nevis woollen mill near Fort William. The tour then follows the Caledonian Canal to Fort Augustus. Here there's a chance to cruise Loch Ness for an hour on The Royal Scot, which has the largest sonar on the Loch. Non-sailors will have the chance to enjoy this tranquil little village on the banks of Loch Ness.

Next is an hour's drive along the entire length of Loch Ness, passing Urquhart Castle where the water is 800 feet deep. When possible, there will be a photo stop in this area. Through Inverness - the capital of the Highlands - the tour heads south, driving past the Cairngorms and over Drumochter, grabbing a quick but magnificent view of Blair Castle. After a comfort stop in picturesque Pitlochry in the luscious Atholl Forest, the tour crosses the Forth Road Bridge, viewing the superlative Forth Bridge before arriving back in Edinburgh with a million memories.

There will be plenty of time to relax or even snooze on the coach as the guide will be playing a wide selection of music at the appropriate times. For the "wide awake club," there's a good chance to chat or perhaps just watch the scenery and contemplate this marvelous land.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.
